Hound Sculpture

1. The hound sculpture shows the classic "Chien Gardant du Gibier" (1850) created by artist Pierre Jules Menet (French, 1810-1879). As one of the most popular hunting groups of Menet, this model was cast in his own studio around the third quarter of the 19th century. Visually, the hound is tied to the tree stump to wait for the return of its owner. Beside it, there are also pheasants and rabbits, which are the trophies of hunters.

2. Use of the product: this hound sculpture can be used as decorative art or excellent home decoration. This aesthetic room decoration adds artistic flavor to your kitchen, living room, desk, bedroom or dining room.

3. Dimensions of the sculpture: 12" x 8 1/2" x 14" 30.48*21.59*35.56 cm

4. Advantages: typical works made under the personal supervision of Menet are self-evident in their special attention to details, and each element is faithfully captured in the most realistic way. What is particularly noteworthy is his rendering of the pheasant's face and fine decoration of feathers - not only along the outside of the pheasant's body, but also including the tail facing the inside of the trunk. Please pay attention to the rabbit's complex mottled fur, crisp eyes, and delicate fur on ears and claws. The fur texture lines along the dog's paws and legs are also obvious, but also along his back and head, the silk-like surface is only broken by the cutting line of the sculptor's stylus.
