Bronze Cupid Sculpture

1. Bronze cupid sculpture shows the bronze "Cupid stringing his bow". It was designed by the French sculptor Charles Louchet. During the Hellenistic period, his iconography acquired the bow and arrow that represented his source of power: a person, or even a deity, who is shot by Cupid's arrow, is filled with uncontrollable desire. Cupid is known in Latin also as Amor ("Love") and his Greek counterpart is Eros. The small sculpture is positioned on a black, square-shaped marble base with the artist’s signature.
